The difference between CE and FCC is much more noticeable on the 5.8 GHz band, which is especially useful in urban environments with a lot of interference.

This will also enable the 5.8Ghz band in countries where it's disabled by default (e.g. Russia, Israel).

The main advantage of using FCC mode on the Mini CE model (MT1SD25) is in urban environments, where 5.8GHz is needed.

On the Mini FCC model (MR1SS5) the gain is much bigger because of the superior hardware on this particular model.

The DRONE_NAME drone just needs to be connected once to the FCC app to switch it into FCC mode. After that, you can fly without the app connected and the drone will remain in FCC mode until connected back to the official app.

Please note that the Mini 3 is only supported with the standard controller (without display). It is not supported for FCC with any of the smart controllers.

On top of FCC, the FCC & AirSense mod also enables AirSense.

AirSense is a system that allows the drone to receive signals sent by airplanes or helicopters (using the ADS-B protocol) and warns the user that there is a manned aircraft in the area.

The position of the aircraft is also visible on the map. This is only a receiver, there is nothing being transmitted from the drone, it just listens to what other aircrafts are transmitting.

With this mod, AirSense is now fully active on Air 2 drones that have the necessary hardware. Checking whether or not the drone has the hardware is simple, the model number (the first line on the label in the battery area) can either end in 3W or 1N. The 3W model has the required hardware, the 1N model does not.
